Dragon Ball Promo Trailer Gave Broly A Questionable Makeover!
I am pretty sure all the Dragon Ball fans miss Dragon Ball Super and the franchise also miss the fan love and the usual rants, feedback and what not. Still, Dragon Ball Super is eager to bring fans back to the mystical world of Dragon Ball. The franchise will open up its doors this winter as the upcoming Dragon Ball Super movie would be releasing in just a matter of months. Goku is gonna return really soon!
Well, while Son Goku is returning as the main character in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the movie is also going to bring back a very cold blooded nemesis. You all are familiar with Broly, he’s getting a reboot and a good one at that. He’s going to become the official Legendary Super Saiyan in the upcoming movie. Also, Broly is going to be a canon character finally. Other characters in the movie will be canon too.
So far, the love for Broly has been big, but that fans are getting a little nervous now. After all, fans expect Broly to look a certain way, and the Saiyan did not live up to those expectations as of late. Over on Twitter, images of Broly began circulating from a recent promo, and they are fueling some serious anger. As you can see, the fighter is shown in his powered-up form, but Broly doesn’t look quite right. The animation isn’t it.

Well, to be honest, I am not such an expert over animation styles or how good the animation is done but even I can obviously tell the differences. It seems like that the work is done in a pretty tight deadline as the whole thing is really different from the design we saw in the Dragon Ball Super: Broly trailer. Even AnimeAjay on twitter rankted about the whole stuff. Well, specifically it was only for Broly as he wrote the following –
Big thank you to Dragon Ball Heroes for showing me what the worst timeline looks like. pic.twitter.com/vxA5KaQ8W2

“FWIW, I don’t think comparing the sheets is massively fair since I imagine he just stuck to his own style to be consistent with the rest of the Heroes, but man… the difference is wild. All these beautiful sheets and you ended up with that. Oof.” He tweeted this while showing the difference between the Broly design sheets and the design which was used in the Super Dragon Ball Heroes trailer.
For fans, this promo art of Broly should remind them of Dragon Ball Super’s old day. The artwork used to bring the Saiyan out is based on the work Todayoshi Yamamuro began in the TV series. This promo clearly differs from the flatter style which Naohiro Shintani is bringing to the Dragon Ball Super film. The art supervisor will give Dragon Ball Super a massive makeover when the feature drops, and fans have reacted positively to the change.
As such, seeing Broly in this outdated style has got some fans worried, but they don’t need to fret for long. It turns out this promo isn’t related to the actual Dragon Ball anime. This artwork was released to promote the Dragon Ball Heroes franchise overseas, so audiences can breathe a sigh of relief… for now.
